Tim Rose
FOUNDER & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Tim founded the company in 1992 and is a hands on leader with his finger firmly on the pulse of the world's fisheries and a nose for exactly when, where and which species to procure. As the chief fish buyer for the business he ensures that only the best quality fish arrives at Three Oceans, without which the rest of the business would have no foundation.
His accumulated knowledge of many individual fish species must be up there amongst the best in the industry and he is a huge supporter of sustainable fishing policies. His pursuit of quality in both product and service is relentless and he instils this belief in every member of the Three Oceans team.
His goal is to make Three Oceans second to none in the provision of service, excellence and quality sea food products to the UK Food Service Industry.
Away from work Tim adores family life. He is a keen competitor and enjoys all country sports, golf and snowboarding. He is a lifelong supporter of Leeds United Football Club.
SEAFOOD OPINION
Tim loves all seafood, choosing fish over meat every time. He prefers simply cooked quality fish.

Geoffrey Druce
CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER
Geoffrey is the principal ambassador and voice of Three Oceans, taking the company's message of uncompromising quality to the market place.
Geoffrey has spent all his working life in the food industry and a good deal of that in frozen products working on leading FMCG brands. He is constantly on the look out for potential customers with the credentials for a 'good fit' with Three Oceans.
He loves a challenge and works closely with 3O's development chefs to resolve new product challenges, often responding within 48 hours of a new product brief with pre-production samples.
Away from work Geoffrey enjoys family life and the occasional game of golf with his two sons, although gone are the days when he stood a chance of beating them. He has obviously taught them too well. Geoff also devotes much of his own time to public and community service. In his local community Geoff and his wife are both heavily involved with the Buxton Food Bank, a charity that is close to their hearts and aligns with the charitable work he is involved with at Three Oceans, helping to provide food for struggling families during school holiday periods.
SEAFOOD OPINION
Another Haddock fan who enjoys cooking for his family. Presentation is important as Geoff says, he “enjoys a bit of theatre on a plate”. He is also a shellfish fan and particularly enjoys Scallops and Oysters. And whilst not strictly a seafood it is probably no surprise that our former London lad also has a liking for jellied Eels.

Dr Simon Derrick
SENIOR TECHNICAL MANAGER
There isn’t much Simon doesn’t know about the seafood sector having spent 22 years working in this industry. Amongst other things, he has been a researcher into biochemistry of fish quality, an international consultant on control and inspection of post-harvest, seafood supply chains, a lecturer and trainer on food safety, legislation & product traceability, and also an inspector/auditor of seafood supply chains. A career that has taken him all over the world and given him an almost unique perspective on seafood and in particular, fish.
Simon’s vast commercial seafood experience is a huge asset to Three Oceans and his focus is on ensuring that the technical needs of our suppliers and customers are met, that raw materials always meet our high quality standards, and that new products are successfully developed to meet both customer and production requirements.
In addition, his knowledge and experience of the wider seafood sector is used to support the Management team in addressing developing issues in the industry and driving the business forward in a sustainable and ethical way.
Outside work, Simon is a keen amateur photographer of wildlife and landscapes, a natural extension of his enjoyment of the countryside in general. He is also a fan of live music - listening rather than playing.
SEAFOOD OPINION
To quote Simon, “It’s the Cod's Pollocks”. He loves the diversity of seafood, enjoying fish and seafood recipes from all around the world. He is always on the look out for something different to try.

Carl Derving
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Carl is the newest member of the senior leadership team and brings a wealth of experience, spanning a career in the finance profession of over 20 years, having started as an apprentice accountant within private practice, when he was 17 years old.
Over those years, Carl has spent time in a plethora of industries, across both profit and not-for-profit organisations, ranging from small family run businesses, right through to private equity backed PLCs, and has spent most of the last 10 years, within manufacturing, specifically food.
At Three Oceans, Carl is our financial gatekeeper and is responsible for the control of our liquidity in the form of cashflow management, including the securing of working capital finance from investment banks and the arrangement of financial instruments for raw material purchases, in foreign currencies.
Carl is also responsible for the financial and management reporting within the business, for both internal and external stakeholders, including our PLC parent company located in Japan, working on group consolidation with our European CFO, based in Holland.
Away from the office, Carl has a very active personal life, with three young children at home. If that wasn’t enough to keep him busy, he hits the gym twice a day and plays lead guitar in two original rock bands, regularly gigging around the city. He has also just recorded an album with one of his bands and is in the process of recording an album with the other band.
SEAFOOD OPINION
Carl likes to keep it simple when it comes to fish. A juicy cod loin coated in breadcrumb will do it.

She combines her food skills with a thorough production understanding ensuring that all products can be made profitably for both Three Oceans and clients alike.

The apple of Gemma’s eye is her young daughter who pretty much takes up all of her spare time, with any left over spent with family, friends and holidays.
SEAFOOD OPINION
For Gemma it’s a bit of a ‘busman’s holiday’ when it comes to seafood. Her personal favourite is traditional Haddock and chips.

SEAFOOD OPINION
If there is fish on the menu John will give it a try, regardless of species, although he is not a fan of putting fish into a pie. Fresh and simply cooked is the way he likes his fish.

Angela Neary
Chief Technical Officer / Yorkshire
Twenty six years ago Angela started her food industry journey as a humble potato grader, a job she did whilst also studying for her A Levels. That hard work ethic has stood her in good stead, and since those early days on a potato line she has has gained valuable production experience in: fresh vegetables, prepared salads, ready meals, chilled/frozen, low risk, high risk, high care and fish. To name but a few.
Her enthusiasm for food production led to ‘furthering her education’ from within the industry. Over the years she has worked with many inspiring mentors, who have helped to develop her technical skill sets and realise that early potential. And today, for Three Oceans, that means leading our Hull based technical team as CTO and working closely with her opposite number at our Lincolnshire site.
She ensures our production and technical teams work harmoniously, scratch builds QMS systems and generally applies her skills and knowledge to the specific production needs of our Hull factory and also to the personal development of her team. It is a job she cares passionately about and one she executes with absolute professionalism but also with a great sense of humour.
At home, Angela’s life is almost as busy if not more so, with the daily needs of raising seven children. Add to that a love for music, theatre and stand up comedy and, as she says, you have a recipe for a happy and fulfilled life.
SEAFOOD OPINION
Angela loves all seafood but in particular, seafood with shells on, scallops and prawns making the top of her ‘to eat list’. When it comes to fish, haddock has always been her fillet of choice.

Darren Keeler
Chief Technical Officer / LINCOLNshire
If you chopped Darren’s arm off, it would probably have ‘Technical’ running through it. Having notched up almost three decades of experience in production, technical and laboratory roles in: snack foods, pharmaceuticals and seafood manufacturing, it is probably fair to say that he knows the intimate workings of a food processing environment better than he knows the back of his own hand.
At Three Oceans he leads and enables multiple teams at our Lincolnshire site, whilst liaising closely with his opposite number in our Yorkshire site. As CTO he is relentlessly focussed on meeting, and often exceeding, our food safety and product quality standards. Not an easy task given that we set the bar exceptionally high in both.
Darren is also passionate about sustainability which is a bedrock principle of Three Oceans. He is involved throughout every aspect of our value chain including: sourcing from sustainable fisheries, marine eco systems, climate change impact, carbon reduction and worker welfare. The list continues to grow as do his efforts to keep making improvements.
You can take the man out of technical but you can’t take technical out of the man. And so it is that away from work, Darren can be found in or under his classic VW camper van keeping it in optimal running order. He also has a ‘pack’ of hounds to look after and when the weather allows, he likes to get on the water for a paddle in his canoe.
SEAFOOD OPINION
As a hero of sustainability, Darren likes his seafood to be the hero on his plate. So a simply cooked, good quality fish is his go-to choice, with haddock and brill at the top of the list, as are scallops when it comes to shellfish.
